Jo
is a native Floridian from Gator Country --Gainesville, FL., who
spent summers and holidays in Flowery Branch, GA with her father
and grandparents. She also attended South Hall High
School, Blackshear, GA for a couple of years before returning to
Gainesville to finish her last two years at GHS. Three
babies later, she attended Columbus College.
Her
first major achievement in writing, at the age of thirteen, was a three page assignment for a short story in her English
class and read to each of the five other classes
throughout the day by the English teacher.
Jo
says, "I couldn't figure out why everyone stared and
was so friendly that day. You know? More
than usual. It wasn't until the end of the day and
someone finally told me, Mrs. Albritton had read
my story to half the school that I had a clue.
Needless to say, I was mortified!"

At
the age of five, Jo met her very own childhood hero! Fate
. . . or fantasy?
They
married 35 years later, and lived in the Metro Atlanta area for
a while. They now reside in the Smoky Mountains of Western North
Carolina, where continuing construction is an everyday
consideration.
Their children call
the Gregory's place - "a growing compound."
